Is it really goodbye “Tomb Raider”? Jackpot answer here

With the fresh-from-the-oven announcement of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, it seems that Crystal Dynamics has left the “Tomb Raider” name for good. Actually, we’re awaiting another announcement from HQ at Redwood.

Crystal D head Darrell Gallagher has recently confirmed that the team is working on two projects at the moment. Guardian of Light is one. But what’s the other?

In response to a query on gaming forum NeoGAF, Square Enix Europe community manager Keir Edmonds says “Tomb Raider and Lara is [still] part of the Crystal fabric”.

“So the other game they are working on could be titled “Tomb Raider” then? So it is possible that both projects in development at Crystal Dynamics star Lara Croft?” asks NeoGAF poster Mama Robotnik.

Edmonds’ answer? “You’re on the money.”
